REVIEW: Bubuchic Water Gel Lip & Cheek Tint and Tinted Lip balm

8:25 AM

Here’s an honest take of this local brand selling REALLY affordable makeup. Know that I’m not gonna swatch everything because I’m giving away some of it (this has always been a pr package tradition of mine whenever I receive something I have to give away some unopened ones, love giving stuff to family members and friends). Anyway, let’s jump right in!
Here’s my literally NO MAKEUP look, just with the butter balm and it did brighten up my face.(Super sick rn my fever is kinda high)

Bubuchic sent their whole line of the Water Gel Lip & Cheek Tints and Butter Tinted Lipbalm for me to test. Before diving deep into this review, let me just give a big hand to the brand for making sure their makeup is cruelty free and are all made from natural ingredients.

Water Gel Lip and Cheek Tint:

The packaging and the branding is really cute, this would sell most especially to the tweens, who are still trying to figure out makeup in general. I like their names for each shade, very easy to remember and it's catchy as well. They are very affordable, it's only 120 pesos per tint, can you imagine? Very accessible for students who are only using their allowance to buy stuff.

I remember back when I was in high school, I didn't even know what a lip tint was because I'd only use my mom's makeup. So most of them were Chanel, Covergirl but now it's nice to see how the Philippines is saturated with a lot of choices available for kids too.

The tints come in so many shades to choose from and the color selection are also very playful, however there are really hit and miss colors, some being too bright. Here are some of the swatches:

It smells fruity, some like candy. I actually did do a wear test, it lasts longer on the cheek than it does on the lips (I mean duh) but not the entire day. It also does look better on the lips than on the cheeks. It's very light, but hard to remove and that’s good if you’re the type who doesn’t really like reapplying but it's scary if you make a mistake because you’re really gonna have problems taking it out. it's very pigmented, so make sure you don't put a lot. It's so watery by the way, so it gets really messy, be very careful. I also had to use micellar water to take it out, because it really does stick. There are colors there that only look good on the lips but not on the cheek or vice versa, like gossip girl really looks off on my cheek, perhaps it's also my skin tone.

There's just one thing I don't like about this product, it gives you patches and it stays there, making you look like you sucked some guys blood out. Not a fan.
Tinted Lip balm:
When I saw this, I was very excited to try it because I love lip balms! The thing about this product is that it's not very moisturizing for a lip balm. It was just like a velvet lipstick. I was expecting something more moisturizing considering that it was a lip balm. Pretty good though considering the price, 160 pesos. They come in four shades and they are all nice, even better than the water tints, this one at least will look good with any skin tone, unlike the other product.  I really love the shade Bohemian. It suits me best. Anyway so yeah one swipe is enough, it bleeds and it gets messy on your lips and on the sides of the container too. It's creamy, but not as moisturizing as a lip balm. I actually like using them.
